Art Paris Art Fair will host 120 international galleries under the glass-domed roof of the Grand Palais. Open to all forms of artistic expression and accessible to all categories of visitors, Art Paris Art Fair presents a wide range of modern and contemporary creations, reinforcing its unique identity by focusing on European creativity. This year the spotlight is on Russia, reflecting the current trend in the international art scene. The 2013 fair will introduce Promises, a new section reserved for young galleries that have been established for 5 years or less, and, for the second year running, presents Limited Edition, a 350 m2 avant-garde platform exploring the relationship and crossover between contemporary art and design.
Lilja Zakirova Gallery is showing two contemporary Russian photographers: Katerina Belkina, born in 1974, who was nominated in 2012 for the prestigious Kandinsky Prize in Moscow. On offer is a selection from her recent series “Empty Spaces”, “Not a Man’s World” and “Paint.” Alongside this is work by Raoef Mamedov (born in Azerbaijan in 1956). He trained at the Soviet cinema school and recreates scenes from the New Testament working with models who have Down’s syndrome in his series entitled “The Last Supper”.
