Bologna Fairground presents “Arte Fiera 2017: International Exhibition of Modern and Contemporary Art” from January 27 through January 30, 2017.Under the new direction of Angela Vettese, the 41st edition of Arte Fiera traces a series of new developments in modern and contemporary Italian art. Besides introducing a new graphic style, the event features a “Main Section” and a series of “Solo Shows,” where 153 galleries will display diverse art forms. “Nueva Vista,” a small section of new proposals curated by Simone Frangi, focuses on works by budding young artists from a commercial perspective. Another section, entitled “Special Projects,” conceived and curated by Chiara Vecchiarelli, involves performances and a series of Artist Lectures at various sites. A “Photography” section curated by Angela Vettese, examines shared space between photography and art. With the endeavor to make the event interactive, Arte Fiera has organized four particular situations such as “GENDA exhibition – The Body As Packaging,” which is a curatorial and publishing project featuring contributions from Chinese and Western artists. “Printville,” a bookshop, showcases the very latest contemporary Italian and foreign productions in the world of art and photography while “Talks” initiates a series of encounters with authors, curators, editors, gallery owners and collectors about contemporary art.
