Artwork concept Solaris:
Solaris is a satellite of the binary star system that moves in a complex orbit around both stars red and blue. The position of the planet located by Alpha Aquarius. Thus described the planet Solaris - Stanislaw Lem in his fantasy novel.
The planet is almost completely covered with an ocean of gel that is revealed to be a single, planet-encompassing entity. The ocean is a creature with a highly evolved mind, and it takes action to correct the planet’s orbit quite consciously. It does this by materializing physical simulacra, including human ones. As Lem wrote, "The peculiarity of those phenomena seems to suggest that we observe a kind of rational activity, but the meaning of this seemingly rational activity of the Solarian Ocean is beyond the reach of human beings.
The planet "sent" to the space research station creatures "guests", which could be called phantoms, if they were not quite material.
As I wrote earlier, my inspiration was not only the novel itself, but also its beautiful Tarkovsky adaptation. And I would like to draw a parallel between the Solaris Ocean and our consciousness, which is so often draw in our Earthmen mind some Phantoms, who are the main reason for our choices and actions.
