The photographer who decorates the first page of the December issue of Monthly Photo is Russian female photographer Katerina Belkina who takes a self-portrait of herself as a model. Fantastic yet cold photos of her contain the emptiness of city dwellers. In addition, particularly expensive cars and houses often appear in the photos. In an interview with her Monthly Photos, Katerina says: “We feel the same emptiness within. Humans want to fill this emptiness with something, and most of them look outside. They try to fill the void in apartments, cars, and neighbors. And these appear to us in visions.”
