»No fire can compare to the sunshine of a winter day.« (Henry David Thoreau)
Landscapes covered in snow, forests covered in glittering frost, rivers and lakes frozen into ice: winters like this are a time of their own beauty, poetry and magic.
It is not surprising that many fairy tales are set in this enchanted world of winter and that it is precisely at this time that we reflect on them, read them and recite them. In the “Winter Fairy Tale” exhibition, 15 artists talk about classic fairy tales, about wintry and wondrous moments, but also about the simple beauty of snow-covered landscapes.
