CSR.ART presents from 2. August 2024 (Vernissage 01.08.) his last exhibition at the Friedrichstraße location: "DIALOG. Art as a bridge between cultures." The group exhibition brings together around 20 artistic positions from eleven different countries. The exhibition concept focuses on dialogue - art science spoken: the dialogical aesthetics. The dialogical aesthetics sees the dialogue as the center of artistic practice and reception. She sees art as a medium that can build cultural bridges, promote social interactions and initiate political changes. By emphasizing interaction, cultural exchange and not hierarchical, but reciprocal relationships between artists and art-seeers, the dialogical aesthetic contributes to creating a deeper understanding and stronger connection between different cultures and societies. Especially in times of global crises, art should act as a medium to bridge cultural differences and highlight common human experiences. "DIALOG. Art as a bridge between cultures" opens with a vernissage on Thursday, 1. August 2024 from 6 p.m. in CSR.ART.

The exhibition DIALOG. pursues several approaches: It would like to highlight the role of art in intercultural dialogue, show the diversity of artistic expressions and perspectives and encourage visitors to think about the importance of exchange and understanding in an increasingly polarized world. The artistic works in this exhibition offer insights into the cultural, social and political realities of the respective countries of origin of the artists. At the same time, they may surprise by questioning preconceived opinions and conveying unexpected, enriching perspectives. Through the dialogue between these different positions, a space for reflection and exchange is to be created.
In view of the current global crises and conflicts, dialogue between cultures and nations is of crucial importance. For the exhibition concept, five theses were formulated by curatoria, which shed light on the role of art and the relevance of dialogue in this context:
Promotion of understanding: Dialogue makes it possible to understand different perspectives and to promote mutual understanding. In a world characterized by conflicts and misunderstandings, it is essential to build bridges and recognize similarities in basic human experience.
Reduction of prejudices: Cultural exchange and dialogue help to reduce prejudices and stereotypes. Art offers a unique platform to communicate beyond language and politics and to share human experiences.
Peace promotion: Through dialogue, ways to resolve conflicts and peace can be found. Art has the potential to arouse empathy and connect people with each other by communicating on a visual and emotional level that does without languages.
Strengthening the community: Dialogue promotes cohesion and solidarity within and between societies. Works of art can strengthen communities and raise awareness of common challenges and goals.
Creativity and innovation: The exchange of ideas and perspectives through dialogue can produce creative and innovative solutions to global problems. Art inspires and motivates to think new ways and look at the world from different angles.
The exhibition "DIALOG. Art as a bridge between cultures" wants to illustrate how art can function as a medium of dialogue. The presented works invite visitors to enter into an intercultural dialogue and to experience the transformative power of art. The exhibition shows that art is not only a mirror of society, but also an active designer and mediator in the pursuit of understanding and peace.
