In line with its policy of exploring the art scenes of the East, Art Paris Art Fair has invited Russia as guest of honour. A central space in the fair will be dedicated to some 11 galleries from a number of cities in Russia including Yekaterinburg, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don and Vladivostok while some 20 European galleries will show work by Russian artists. With around 90 artists represented, Art Paris Art Fair will be an opportunity to discover or rediscover Russian art, with work made by leading talents from the diaspora of the 1920s and 1930s, the non-conformists who opposed the Soviet power culture from 1960 to 1991 to the stars of the contemporary art scene. In cooperation with Suzanne Tarasiève Gallery, a monumental work entitled "Façade" (2012) by the Russian art collective known as 'Recycle' will be exhibited at the entrance of the Grand Palais for the duration of the fair. A round-table discussion on the theme "Russian creation today: between glamour and political activism" moderated by Ekatherina Iragui (Iragui Gallery, Moscow) and curator Andrei Erofeev will take place on 28th March from 4pm to 5.30pm in the auditorium of the Grand Palais.
The artwork Red Moscow by Katerina Belkina was used as a opener Artwork for the whole art fair. Because of the guest country Russia in 2013.
