Welcome to the open studios
in the anniversary year 2024!
The BBK Brandenburg, together with the cultural administrations of the districts and independent cities and the artists, invites you to experience the diverse artistic positions in the studios and art spaces in Brandenburg.
As a nationwide professional association, the BBK Brandenburg sees it as its task to make contemporary fine art with its participatory, reflective, stimulating, sometimes provocative forms tangible and to convey its social contribution. The artistic process from the idea to production plays just as much a role as the liveliness and innovative power of artistic projects. We want insights in the results of concentrated artistic work and show the potential of freelance artistic creation with familiar positions and unknown artistic experiments across the country and beyond the circle of members.
The visual artists are the branch of the artists working in the state of Brandenburg with the largest number of members and have a great diversity of forms of expression and fields of activity. With great commitment and local expertise in private and public art spaces and art associations, studio houses and artist communities, art schools, art festivals, symposia, cultural education projects, art in public spaces and art in buildings, they play a key role in shaping Brandenburg's art and cultural landscape and are currently closing institutional and structural voids in rural areas. In this way, the artists make an important contribution to regional cultural tourism development and enable cultural participation in the area with the variety of their artistic offerings of the country.
We warmly invite you to visit Brandenburg’s artists in their studios, workshops and galleries. Discover the open studios as places for personal encounters with the artists, become part of their networks and talk to them about their works of art, as well as about the challenges and potential of their everyday artistic life! Let yourself be surprised and inspired, convinced by the art or even be tempted to purchase a work of art.
We would like to thank the participating artists, the state cultural administrations and everyone involved for their great commitment, congratulate the 25th anniversary of the Open Ateliers and wish you much success!
